Depends on the person, but generally 14 year olds are, correctly, viewed as inexperienced and somewhat naive.

Older people look on 14 year olds as being '14' year olds - which is 'a problem age' in life.

Do you have to speak more carefully...? Well, it might be useful to think about what you want to say before doing so.

It's a complicated answer you are asking because there are 14 year olds, and then again, there are 14 year olds. Some are capable of speaking and articulating their thoughts and feelings, others are not 'capable' ...of doing much more than 'grunting' at those not close to that age.

If you behave 'giggly' and childish, if you are a girl, then you'll be looked on as 'giggly' and childish ....or, as a 14 year old who lives on another planet ....or as a churlish, aggressive / moody boy if you are a boy (you failed to say).

It's those hormones racing through your body trying to turn you from Child to Young Wo/Man.

Sash.

I am 36, but of course I was also 14!

When I was 14 I thought I knew it all, but now 22 further years of experience as an independent adult tells me that a 14 year old has a lot to learn....so when I talk to one, I expect to hear childish immature things. But this is not their fault! They just haven't had the time yet to understand, think or act independently.

A 14 year old does not have to pay a mortgage or utility bills or worry about all the things that older people have to constantly worry about, so their concept of value is way different.

When they reach the age where their children are 14 they will have been shaped by the adult worries to the point where they will see 14 as immature.

It's the cycle of life and the battle of the generations.

Some are and some aren't. We can tell by how you speak to us and to others so if you are immature or childish it will tell.

PS I don't believe that all 14 year olds are childish and have met some that would put adults to shame on the other hand I have been in the presence of some of the most immature 14 year olds on earth I think. It plays both ways.

Hun,you cannot say that people look on every teenager as being young and childish. Each teen is different, acts differently, matures at a different rate, etc. If a teen who is 14 years of age acts young, childish, and immature they will be treated that way.If one acts like a young adult, mature, and responsible then that will also be taken into consideration. It is all in how responsible you are,and how you behave around others. There are 14 year olds, who are responsible and are mature and have a good head on their shoulders and who make wise decisions. There are also those who are irresponsible, who cannot be depended on,who do poorly in school, who doesnt care about anything but what they want.As i said earlier in my answer,it depends on the person. Each teenager as well as every person is different.Have a good day!

Not nessessarily.
I happen to be 14 but that doesnt make me childish. I stopped being childish when I was about 11.

My parents treat me like an adult because I dont get into trouble and I dont have "teenage drama" because I think that is rediculous.

It all depends upon the person. If they chose to be immature, then they will get treated as a child. Its easy as that.

It depends on how the person acts. I have a sister that is 16, and usually she is pretty mature, and I can talk to her about things, I am 10 years older than her. But then there are times when she acts like a little kid, thats how teenagers are. I think 14 people think, thats not too far from 13, so the teen is still a child. But if you act mature, you will get more respect!

Usually 14 year olds are immature. There are exeptions where the teen is a bit more mature than others but they will still be thought of as immature. I lived on my own (not by choice) at age 14 and I wish I could have been as immature as people seemed to believe I was. I learned the best thing to do is let people think what they want and to be as mature and responsible as possible. Responsibility is the true measure of maturity.

I have no thought. it is in all possibility using fact mainstream society dictates babies be that way, in spite of the fact that, your avatar and username shows which you at the instant are not immune. i might advise you stop annoying approximately what different all human beings is like. they are going to be that way whether you care or not. on the alternative, this is a threat that they are so immature as reprisal from human beings telling them to be mature. additionally, feeling such as you're two decades previous is technically impossible on account which you have not been twenty, or nor have I, so which you do not understand what it appears like, whether the two one human beings have guesses that are in all possibility incorrect. Hormonal imbalances for the time of puberty could additionally account for a number of this whether there are a number of exceptions and variables, maximum of which i'm guessing i don't understand. additionally, evaluate that component to immaturity is putting your self above others. bear in recommendations that perhaps between the human beings you think approximately immature now will evaluate you immature later. of course, there is the possibility which you're only extra valuable than your friends, wherein case I even have informed you not something you do not already understand.

Immaturity is not so much about age but about condition.
Growing up can be hard sometimes.
A 14 year old in a world war zone for example might might be very mature sadly
Be happy and contented in yourself and try not to be influenced unduly by others
And when you are 60 like I am look back on this question again!!
