I have to say that I agree that the vast majority of people seem to have no idea of what a search engine is all about, and that they have the world's largest encyclopaedia at their fingertips.
Certainly, for questions requiring straight factual answers, I'll never understand why people don't just 'Google It', but for opinion and 'sounding-out' purposes, I think Answers is a good idea.

Because it quicker, more fun and you get peoples opinion and funnily enough google does not hold the answer to everything. I've tried to find things on google in the past with no luck.
However what i dont understand is people who ask questions when similar question have been asked MANY times on here before, I mean the 'Ask' button even shows similar questions when you start typing.

I don't think this is really a serious question and answer service.Most people just seem to be obsessed with gaining points,others insulting people,whilst some people are just hoping to make online contacts.This has been a huge success for Yahoo!...I don't think they could really give a monkey's how people are using it,as long as they're getting the numbers they need.

well wif out wishin to sound obvious u cant always find wat ur lookin 4 plus some ppls questions r intemite and individual i think this was bit of a silly question to waste points on coz the answer is so obvious unless u aint searched round the questions if some one is havin an individual prob wif there relationship or somthin u aint gona find an answer on there think bout it and im sure u will agree

I always ask for people's opinions. You can't get that on google. So there.

because u cant get peoples opinion in google. i also dont see any fun about it !!!! this is a fun way for people to give out their opinions, ect.

Yeah, that's more work than asking questions on here. Plus, you meet new people here, and you get people's personal experiences with issues here, more than you'd get on google.
Plus, you can't get points on google. (For whatever's that's worth, LOL)
