Did you see the song "Lithium" on Evanescences new album?

Parts of Lithium is used in some anti-depressants so thats probably what the song refers to.

Lithium was supposedly one of the first chemicals created in the Big Bang but since I don't believe in the big bang I wouldn't believe that.

Lithium is quite unstable I think and if you exposed it to air it would start rusting away before your eyes... sort of like when you breath on glass and it goes foggy I think that's what happens to lithium when you put it in the air.

Oh and Lithium is also used in batteries, espeically laptop and phone batteries.

Lithium is a monovalent cation which belongs to the group of alkali metals together with sodium, potassium and other elements with which it shares some of its properties.

as has been previously said its used to treat depression and bipolar disorder because it provides a sort of insulating effect between the person and their moods, can create the feeling of walking through treacle. It causes liver damage at (too) high doses and maintaining the window of effect is tricky because of this.

in its element form it is highly reactive, rusting in air, and flaming and bubbling in water, consquently it has to be stored under oil, to keep it inert.
