Greeks developed the atomic theory of matter as early as 500BC and believed matter was made of atoms, although this was based on philisophical theory rather than experiment.

They used to think all things were a combination of fire, water and rock. Example, an ice cube was mostly water, no fire, and a little rock that went away after it melted. Can ya dig it?

greek philospher Democritus first thought that all matter are made up of INDIVISIBLE, INDESTRUCTIBLE PARTICLES CALLED atoms.

his theroy is wrong, atoms are divisible.....he dont know that there are thing scalled electrons, neutrons and protons....
