It's not fair, it's not legal... but it happens all the time.
Should you fight it, then you'll have to prove that it was because your are PG. Unless your former employer was stupid enough to say that in front of witnesses, or put it into writing, then you'll have a tough case.
Worse yet, the word will get out among employers that you're bringing a job action, complicating your life even more.
In other words, filing a lawsuit isn't worth it since you're only getting 8 hours, likely to lose, and if you do win, it will be months and months before you hear anything. It's not right, but that's the way it is.
I'd simple flip them the bird on the way out, and go find another waitressing job. If you were only getting 8 hours you should be able to replace that job fairly soon.
BTW, what job skills do you have? Do you intend on supporting your new family by waitressing? If not, then you'll want to find some job skills ASAP.

If you worked there less than 3 months, there's nothing you can do about it. Anyway, most places like that won't keep a pregnant employee on because it's an insurance risk...if you fell on the job and hurt the baby or lost the baby...they'd be at fault. And besides, they don't want to have to 'hold' your job while your on maternity leave....thems the breaks kid...shoulda used birth control.

Are you in the US? If you can prove you were fired for being pregnant you can sue. Thsi is highly illegal.
