Usually they provide one of each of the cartridges in the carton. They want you to get it up and running with no grief. I know that the ones from Brother come with full cartridges as part of the initial set.

Yes, but sometimes it's a starter cartridge. These companys make more money off of the cartridges than they do the printer. They can cost $30 just for a black cartridge. I had a Lexmark, and it was very poor with ink. I finally tossed it out.If you're in the store, just read what's on the box.It will tell you what comes with it. And be careful, many don't even come with the cable you need to connect it to the computer.And that can run another $10-$20...

Printers usually come with an ink cartridge or toner cartridge. They are usually "starter" ones and will only be half full.

Yes, but you must be sure to remove the protective packing and tape from them before you use the printer.

I have had HP and EPSON printers and both came with cartridges; I suspect they all do...
