I would consider major sports, ones that are played world wide, or in many countries. Of course soccer is the biggest. Then I guess - golf, tennis, rugby, baseball and hockey are some others. Many I'm leaving out I'm sure. Hope this helps.

Soccer during world cup
All years in between Cycling (many will miss this from the US but the tour de France has over a 90% per day viewer ship for 21 days in a row in Europe. No sport can touch that kind of view numbers except world cup soccer but it's only for a very short time relative to a cycling season.

Worldwide it's Soccer as #1, but here in the USA that's way down the list.

i noticed no one mentioned gymnastics or dance. HELLO way major i know football and basketball, soccer, baseball, hockey, their I'mportant to but im a girl so just wanted state my opinion!!!
