I think the only way you could do it, and it would have to be under the counter stuff because of privacy laws is if you knew a policeman personally who would check...although he would be risking his job if he was found out to be doing this for you. There are so many laws these days that it restricts a person to find out any personal details of anyone else. I would hate to think, as one answerer suggested that my private details would be so easily accessed just by doing what she says. I dont think it is possible...the law wouldnt permit it. And unless he has a criminal record then you arent going to find out much anyway.

If you are so concerned about your daughter's welfare, then maybe you could get the name and address of a friend of his, and make a phone call anonomously saying you are an employer wanting some details of this person's character. Its a tough one because you are really limited to what you can find out. Maybe find out the name of an ex girlfriend then go talk to her...she probably would be able to give you an idea of what type of person he is...although that may not be reliable anyway because she may just hate him now so is not going to say anything nice anyway.

The bottom line is though, if your daughter is in love with him, it wont matter what kind of dirt you can get on him, she will excuse it by saying, well he might have been like that, but hes changed. Love is so blind, and even when people are presented with the "truth", they will not believe it. My daughter had a boyfriend who was a speed addict...he got her into using. Her whole personality changed, he used to hit her, he was a real despicable low life. I couldnt do anything about it, and when I tried to intervene, even when he hit her, she would defend him. The only thing I could do was love her and wait for her to come to her senses....wait for her to see the real idiot he was. She did, and while a lot of damage was caused while she was in this relationship, she did learn from that experience. Like I said, love is blind.
