I'd like a hotel or a bed & breakfast relatively close to some of the major landmarks in London like Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey, etc. I also want to fly the London Eye.

I'd prefer an elegant, Victorian themed atmosphere, but nothing too expensive. I'll be travelling with a male friend, so if you give me the name of a hotel, I'd like to know if there are suites that have a bedroom, and a separate den area with a pull-out couch.

Sorry to be so specific! This is a once in a lifetime trip for me, and I'm hoping it will turn out to be a very romantic one! Thanks for your help!

Please contact a travel agent who can try to find something for you to meet your requirements and in your budget. Let the agent know what you are willing to spend. London is very expensive and even a cheap hotel further from the sights might still run you between $150 and $200/night. Make sure you ask the agent to give you the price in dollars and to let you know what the tax and service fees are as they might be as high at 30%. That means that if you're staying in a room at $150/night, w/ taxes that will actually be $200/night.

I will be difficult to find a suite or a room w/ a separate den at that price. The best you'll do is either 2 single rooms or a room w/ twin beds. If you're looking for a room w/ your type of accommodation, in central London, then you will need to budget $300-400/night - minimum. You might consider a room further away from the sites and purchasing a Tube pass for taking the subway to the sites.

Stay with hotels that are at least a 3 star or above as they will fit a US traveler's standard, but even these will tend to be extremely small rooms and tiny bathrooms. If you're planning to travel in the summer, make sure the hotel has AC - not all hotels in Europe have AC and the last few summers have been very hot all over Europe.

Hope this helps.

Firstly, you won't find a bed&breakfast with a suite. B&B are small privately run hotels with en-suite on shared bathrooms. A suite with 2 rooms in London will cost around £200 a night. If you could settle for a room with 2 beds then you have much more choice.
I am not sure what you consider to be a "Victoria Themed atmosphere". I would think that this would make the hotel very expensive.

"i'd not stay at Marble Arch, you spend all some time walking or driving the underground. typically, even with the indisputable fact that, that's extra perfect to stay someplace in the congestion charging zone because you could almost continually walk to some thing of interest. You both could be contained in the circle line, or interior some blocks outdoors of it." comments re Marble Arch: ** lower than a 20 minute elementary walk from Marble Arch: Oxford highway, Hyde Park, Mayfair, Marylebone, Baker highway, Oxford Circus, Soho, Carnaby highway, Madame Tussauds, Regents highway, London Palladium (Sister Act). ** Marble Arch has its own tube station on the mandatory Line. ** Marble Arch is in the congestion zone The London Palladium is an intense priced section to stay in so perfect to vacation into it a short distance. take a seem on the Bayswater hotel which for Feb eighth is providing a cheap cost of 59 kilos for 2 human beings which consists of breakfast. For the fee its almost as good a fee as you get in London and the encompassing section is okay.
