I know that you can use The Weather Channel's program. I don't like that program though. Does any of you know any good weather programs to put on your desktop?

I use Yahoo's Widget Engine. They have a weather module that I like. The Yahoo Widget Engine used to be called Konfabulator.

Be careful because some free weather programs come with ad-ware and spy-ware.

Rather than a desktop weather program, I like to go to the source - NOAA - National Weather Service. It's accurate, up to date, and since you don't download anything or sign up, you don't get flooded with e-mails and advertisements. (Flood pun not intended.)

Click on the link below, enter your zip code in the box at the top left, and then bookmark the page for easy access. It provides forecast, all weather bulletins, maps, and anything else you could want.

I've tried both Weather watcher and Weather Pulse and both are free and very good; it's down to personal preference which you'll like! I have both...

note Yahoo widgets have weather widgets you can keep on your desktop; much cooler...

I do use the weather.com's regional weather maps, in motion, along with my local tv station's streaming video weather forecast. So that is the US infrared satellite map in motion,

http://www.weather.com/maps/maptype/satelliteusnational/index_large_animated.html

with my area doplar and satellite from weather.com and then my local tv weather forecast that they have on streaming video.
During hurricane season I also use a couple of special sites and maps -

the western hemisphere: http://www.weather.com/maps/maptype/satelliteworld/westernhemisphereglobalsatellite_large_animated.html

a noaa map: http://www.goes.noaa.gov/GIFS/ECWV.JPG

weatherunderground: http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/

nat'l hurricane center: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/

I have these on 'my favorites' in a folder titled 'weather', and I'm ready for anything.
