Since 17 wks, I have felt my baby kick vigorously at regular intervals during the day. It almost always kicks when I'm still and flat on my back, whether morning, noon or night. But since Friday the baby's movements have totally changed. Now I have v. infrequent movement which is more like a flutter. Went to the hospital on Saturday night, they monitored baby's heart and said its normal. But still, the movements havent gone back to normal and now it's Sunday night. Has this happened to anybody else? Everybody tells me it will be OK, but I know my baby! and it's been 3 days!

if you feel this is not normal, and are insistant that something could be wrong, you should continue to bring this to your doctor's attention until you are convinced everything is ok. women know their bodies and their babies better than anyone. (it's better to be a little paranoid, than waiting for something to go wrong)

You baby will go through spells where it doesnt move as much for a week or so. And then come back twice a strong. They have little growth spurts and dont do much except sleep and grow.
Its normal. Iam 25 weeks and go through the same thing about ever other or every two weeks. Not much kicking for a few days or a week, and then my insides get mashed into hamburger from every imaginable angle.
They also change how, when, and the rhythm of their kicks through-out pregnancy. Its when you have a day go by with NO MOVEMENT AT ALL that you should start to become worried.
The farther along you get, as you move into your third trimester, or 27th week, the baby starts to rapidly grow and run out of space. It will kick much less from that point until delivery.

My doctor always told me that if I didn't feel movement that I should eat something sweet and wait 30 minutes. If the baby still doesn't move then she said that I should go to the hospital. It seems that maybe your baby is just resting or relaxing. I think everything is going to be ok because you said that it still moves but more like a flutter. It should be fine but if you have any concerns do not hesitate to go to the hospital or call your doctor. This is your baby we're talking about. But just try eating something sweet for now and see what happens.

I am going to put this bluntly and I don't really care if anyone likes it or not. As a pregnant woman you know you and you know the movements of your baby. If you think something is wrong you make that Doctor understand and take you seriously. I kept telling my Doctor that I thought I was further along than he said and he kept telling me the baby wasn't that far because of size. I went into labor he stopped it and the medicine ended up killing my baby. I ended up being thirty nine weeks and my baby had a growth hormone missing which is why she was so small. If the Doctor would have listened to me I would have my daughter to this day. Make your Doctor listen and don't give up till he does. Best of luck to you and hope that everything goes alright for you.

When I was 17 weeks I did not feel alot of movement and I was concern that something was wrong however, I was told that it is still early and the movements will be more intensed as the baby gets bigger. I am 33 weeks today and that is true, My baby is moving alot and you could even see it.
So do not worry, if you really feel that something is wrong goto the doctors and have them take a sonogram so that you could feel more comfortable.. (Good Luck)!!!!

As long as you feel some movement, you're find. If you don't feel any movement at all for a full 24 hours, call your doctor. The baby can be sitting in a weird position and not moving as much. Don't worry.

My Dr told me that if baby does not move 10 times in 12 hrs then I have to go and check to make sure everything is fine, but baby's movement changes during pregnancy.
Call your Dr. or 24 hrs Nurses to make sure.
Good luck and do not worry too much

That far along he may have just ran out of space like the other answerer stated.
I've heard of mothers who went to the drugstore and bought a little stethoscope so that they could hear the baby's heartbeat anytime they wanted or were feeling scared. That sounds like a great idea - I know if I was pregnant I would do that!

you are fine do not stress. With my little boy he is what the doctors called a lazy baby he was the same. I am 20 weeks again and the baby does not move like I THINK it should although the baby is fine and the doctor says so so...I have to believe the doctor he knows the best!

Maybe you should try drinking or eating something sweet to give your baby a little boost. If you went to the hospital and everything was normal then you should be fine. But have some candy or juice and see what happens.
