The Democrats worship the ACLU and love to see our soldiers disgraced.

I know they stood with the GOP on that money is speech issue. When the Dems tried to limit contributions. Or should I say when the Dems saw the GOP had 10 times as much money.

Another one that the ACLU stood up for was Corporations right to lie.I had trouble with that. But the Supreme Court upheld the decision, Corporations have the right to lie about their products and services.

How about California's anti Okie law. CA passed a law forbidding white trash from entering the state. The ACLU fought for the rights of the trailer trash Okies and Volla CA is full of inbred Hicks.

Ahh I mean Okies.

I have never supported the ACLU pertaining to a lot of the causes they undertake, and yet I so support their right to defend whomever and whatever they wish.

As for the groups protesting and interrupt mourners at funerals, well, isn't it another example of how our nation, our society is gradually losing civility?

they believe that all men are created equal and they all deserve the same rights... even if they are saying some crazy sick stuff that NO ONE agrees with...

the ACLU is there to protect everyone's rights... be it NAMBLA or the conservative funeral protesters... both on EXTREME opposite ends...

when no one stands up for someone's rights... then that's going to far in my book... dictatorships start with taking the rights away of the few extremists... then a few more people, then a few more... until before you know it...it's everyone...

having the ACLU defend sick bastards is a small price to pay in my book... and the ACLU can only do so much, they can't change the law... they are only trying to make sure the application of the law is fair

If we found or founded a group like the ACLU that served everyone all the time we would be where? Heaven or hell? The ACLU is our last line of defense against the encroaching police state that at this very moment is working tirelessly to deprive you of your basic rights to be free of unlawful prosecution, right to privacy etc. Everything they do will not be right and in direct answer to your question you're right that is taking it too far. Rights are one thing having respect for someone elses rights is everyones responsibility. We wont agree with everyones sayings but we do need to respect thier right to say it. And the line is drawn at respect and basic human dignity that is higher than law.

in assessment to you, the ACLU believes that the 1st exchange rights in our shape must be the two utilized to all individuals. you purely want the 1st exchange utilized to Christian electorate. it is not Freedom of Christianity, huge guy. it is freedom of religion. Your place is thoroughly immoral, unConstitutional, and defames the very values that tens of millions of people have died for using fact the inception of the colonies. in case you have been rather American, rather a patriot, you will possibly understand that the form and the suggestions it replaced into created on rests completely on the guy's stunning to self-determination. between the optimum precepts of guy or woman rights that all of us relish is that the want of maximum human beings can not do away with the rights of the minority. in case you prefer to tension human beings to be such as you, you at the instant are not extra valuable than those idiots strapping bombs to their chest and murdering harmless civilians around the international. don't be a whiny wannabe despot like Revver Fallwell, attempting to dictate your ideals on all human beings else. Rip down your scriptures or chisel in mine. The 4 Noble Truths of Buddhism, the 5 Pillars of Islam, the Wiccan Rede, all of our religions are secure the form you declare as your very own. it is not. it is ours, too. in case you do unlike our shape, circulate away. i might recommend you attempt to alter it, yet you will purely get help from Fred Phelps and different hate communities.

As despicable as those actions are, they aren't illegal. The thing about the ACLU is that they are trying to protect the civil liberties of everyone. Freedom of speech is not limited to the people who you agree with, we must take the good with the bad and simply because the ACLU defends a client, it does not mean they support their message, they are just supporting their right to action on general principle.

I still support the ACLU as a whole, but I know that there are exceptions to free speech. There is no absolute right to it. I think protesting funerals is a case that should also be an exception. Let people put their dead to rest in peace.

Just because the ACLU may have taken the case, it certainly doesn't mean that they will win. It is very important in this society that even despised groups have thier "day in court". I am very proud the ACLU provides this very unpopular, but very necessary service to America.
