I have to agree. The whole Live8 thing was a publicity stunt for starters.
She also abandoned the Church for a cult (kabbalah) and then sees it as correct to mock it, even when she performed near the Vatican.
She has constantly been overhyped too- her music I've always felt is like other 'pop princesses' such as Kylie Minogue- overhyped and commercial.
I've been brought up listening to all sorts- country and western, rock, indie...I now like bands like Depeche Mode, New Order, Morrissey/The Smiths, Erasure, Pet Shop Boys, OMD- all these bands EARNED AND WORKED for their fame, making good music, writing their own songs and actually making an effort.
It isn't about jealousy- sometimes you have to make criticism where criticism is due.
You have better taste than to bother with manufactured pop drivel.

i went to see Madonna in 1987 the blonde ambition tour she was giving everyone the wow factor the year after she just had to go that little bit further and totally embarrass herself by doing the masturbation scene it was cringe worthy moments like these that have made her into the totally egotistic woman she is today. At 47 she has got to let it go the Crucifixion depiction is an abomination. That stupid little slapper Lily Allen spouts her mouth off and is self opinionated people look down upon her. well shes probably about 20and as far as I'm concerned apart from needing a few manners she doesn't try to shove a vibrator up herself on stage for the shock factor or depict herself as the next Messiah maddona get on with raising your family you have millions in the bank make way for young fresh bands

I don't waste my time and energy hating people who I have never met, who have never hurt me or my family, who have not made a single impact on my life, negative or positive. I think you need to get some perspective, there are far worse people than Madonna out there!

I dont feel that way about her. I think I like her and her music. If you dont like her, since you were brought up that way in listening to music, well it's maybe bcos you've seen many others better than her. It doesn't mean u should hate her. Most people like her. I can also say so too, although she should have stopped singing a long while ago. Afterall, she's far more better than celebrities like Paris Hilton.

'Let he without sin cast the first stone'.
First of all, Madonna has written dozens of popular songs and enertained millions so, whether she has arguably made some errors of judgement or not, she has contributed more to the world than the vast majority of people.
You don't get such great highs without some lows.
My favourite female singer is Kate Bush but I admire some of Madonna's songs too.
Tori Amos and Alanis Morissette are great too.

I wouldn't waste my time even thinking about her, it's not worth it. She's a has-been who doesn't know when to quit.
Just to add to my answer, I thought Madonna was cool up until the bit with pointy bras and that horrible book. she has got progressively worse since then, and now she's just gross. think of nice things instead of her.

The entertainment business is cut-throat and ruthless, but she is still in the game after more than 20 years. Good luck to her I say.

She must be doing something right to have so many fans and have so much respect in the entertainment industry. You are just one voice with one opinion and are probably just jealous of her success!
