Nothing illegal here, I'm just trying to find a way to open my bedroom door when my silly brother locks me out and goes to sleep lol.

If you're talking about the old skeleton type lock it's easy.
Just get a small utility like a large paper clip or a hairpin and insert the straight end into the bottom of the loch and drag it counterclockwise around the lock.
You should feel a little springy resistance but keep turning and the bolt will recede.
A more modern tumbler type lock requires two pieces of thin steel. One to be inserted in the bottom channel and hold the tumbler base still and one "L" shaped to move the 3 tumblers around (again Counterclockwise). It will take 3 turns of the "L" shaped piece of steel to complete the task.

If you want to open a latch type lock, use a piece of mylar and slip it between the door and jamb then bring it up over the latch. Some latch type locks have a small bolt riding on top of the latch. For that you have to push the door until the bar drops goes beyond the striker plate and seats itself foll length along side the latch itself. Then use the mylar...or an old credit card.

Now don't go doing anything illegal with this info.

Go down to the Police Station. They will be happy to help you. They might even pick it for you. :) You might get new quarters for a while. Can't beat the free food.
