I try to be honestand fair but ppl are mean and torturous towards me. Should I become mean too?

Don't become mean but be assertive. I think that we tend to run over people who are weaker than us and think twice before stepping up to people who are stronger than us.
I think the key thing is to find people who feed your goodness and hang around then more while at the same time becoming assertive to those who try to run you over. You don't need to fight anyone. Just let your presence be known. If someone thinks that they can cut you in line, let them know and if they ignore you, that's fine but you have made your presence known.
As you become act out your assertiveness, you'll become better at it.
But more importantly, enjoy being nice. It will continue to bring the best out of you and make you feel wonderful about life. Life can be tough at times and so if you have a positive spirit when things are good, it will help you cope well with tough times.
Never let yourself become a mean. bitter person. Life is too precious to cultivate meanness. Just look around you and see how unhappy mean adults are. Learn from them and don't allow yourself to become like that.
Keep the company of people who care and like to share warmth and kindness!!!! Also, ask God to help you. He is the protector of the weak.

Yes, others will take advantage of you and no, don't become mean. We already have enough mean people. Be strong and courageous enough to help others and set a good example whenever you can. You will not always be rewarded for goodness, but you will do a lot of good things for others. You sound like a very nice person to me.

Yes, people take advantage of nice people all the time. Generally it's because people take for granted the kindness that you show. Don't be mean the best thing to do is to not allow people to do mean things to you and that is by telling them not to.

YES some people can be mean to nice people! What you need to realize is that you don't know the other person or how they are feeling! Just because someone is really mean to you doesn't mean that you have to act just like them! Ask yourself how you feel about their actions and do you want to be this kind of person. This does not mean that you can't express yourself or your opinion about certain situations. Sometimes we have to take up for ourselves and not let others walk all over us!

no you should not become mean because of other people that,s just their ignorance i,m very nice that,s the way i was brought up and people been trying to take advantange all my 30 somthing yearsbut i learned the hard way now i just simply stay away or nicely say no family seem to take advantage also just stay the way you are will be the one to shine it,s nice to know thier are some nice people in the world

Yes they like to take advantage, some of them; but do YOU let them? Yes put your foot down, but do not become mean! You let them affect you negatively if you do that. Life is about learning lessons, and this is one you have seen that you need to step up in and not let it repeat. Learn to say NO. Learn to repeat it if you have to! I've been there too, because I'm too nice! But it was my fault for letting them do it to me. I learned real quick not to let others treat me that way. It's self respect too! So don't feel bad about standing up to them and saying no, or declining to help!

Same thing happens to me...they figure we're too nice to put up a fight and therefore we are weak (in their eyes) and an easy target for then because we don't fight back....my advise? say something, stand up for yourself with out getting into an actual fight. Don't be "mean" just tell them to stop. and otherwise ignore them. Just don't let them take advantage of you and lower your self esteem

some ppl do take advantage of nice ppl depending on who the person is. you shudn't be mean because it'll just make you like them. just keep your guard up on whoever the person is because once they take advantage they do it over and over again and it will get to the point where you've had enough.

People can't take advantage of you unless you allow them to. No need to be mean, just don't be so nice to everyone until you discern who is sincere.

Revenge is never the answer, if people are mean to you, either stand up for yourself and make sure you have nothing to do with those people.
In other words, do unto others as you would want to do unto you.
