I really do feel that "public service" messages make us fearful. Try to watch a late night movie: Cancer, Heart attacks, car accidents, drug messages , don't do this, do this or die, kids starving etc.

I'm sure some of it is positive but I am outraged that pharmaceutical companies are allowed to advertise on television. Pharmaceuticals are becoming a "quick fix" to whatever ails us. Every drug comes with side effects, and what to do about the side effects? How about another drug for that! The power of suggestion is paying off for pahrmaceutical companies. Cant' sleep? Call your doctor! Heartburn? Call your doctor! Depression? Call your doctor!
And if you can't afford your medication? Now the pharmaceutical companies will "help" you with that too!
These companies are making billions of dollars a year, yet our health care costs continue to rise faster than the cost of living. Something is very wrong with that.
