Against. First, it is NOT the woman's body that gets ripped to shreds. Second, NO ONE is allowed to do just whatever they want to their own bodies. Suicide is illegal, remember? Drinking and driving is illegal. Remember? Using your body to kill, rape, mutilate, rob, or cheat others are all illegal.
Why should it be okay to kill an unborn child just because you can't see it?

Against, it is killing of the child. And no it is not a mothers choice, can she choose to kill her 3 year old, nope, her choice was to have the sex or not ( except in cases of rape)and the choice of using birth control or not

And she always has the option of adoption

Murder is never a choice that should be made

Pro Choice, what a woman does with her body is her business. If men were as anti-unprotected sex as they are anti abortion, their would be a lot fewer unwanted pregnancies. They make babies, are against abortions, but are either deadbeat dads, or spend the next 18 years bit@hing about paying child support.

One other thing that that makes me pro-choice is theat Bush & his ilk in their supreme ignorance ousted birth control information and supplies as part of their battale against abortion. Try telling people in the third worlds of Appaliachia , or Dufar that , Abstinence is the their only choice. Tell Americas teens that when you deny them access to Planned Parenthood.
Why not just turn the clock back 75 years!

Anyone who was never for it should embrace abortion after almost 6 years of George W. Bush. Think of how many people would still be alive, how many children would know their fathers, and how much better off the victims of hurricane Katrina would be if only Barbara Bush had had an abortion.

Don't have an abortion. Have the baby nurture it , love it, than when the child is old enough, the religious right will start another war( if Iraq is over by then) put your child in uniform and they will look after the killing part. I"m curious how many "Pro Lifers" , ask yourself, are you in favour of pre-emptive War, such as Iraq, are you in favour of the "Death Penalty"? If you answered "YES" to either, you are not Pro Life ,just another hypocrite.

I don't think ANYONE is for abortion, just most sane people realize that if a woman finds herself in a position where that is the logical option, she should have that option if she, her doctor and her God are comfortable with it. It should be none of the legislature's business. If the government insist on being involved, they should study a little history and realize most abortions will occur anyway, so ones that are legal & safe for the mother are the best choice.

Metalsoft, you should reread your bible; the bible does not say "Thou shalt not kill", that's a mistranslation; it says "Thou shalt not murder". The OT is full of God killing, and humans killing for God, and Dt.13:6-10 even says YOU should stone your family TO DEATH if you know they aren't Christians!

To all the answerers: the world is grey, not black or white. And to impose you opinions or beliefs on others is a true crime.
But then again, I live in a country where the term liberal is a compliment, people can think for themselves and government and church are truly separated.

I am pro-choice for many reasons.

1) If a woman is raped (either by a stranger or family member,) then if she cannot get an abortion, she must live with that reminder of her ordeal for 9 months, only to have the child then give it up for adoption. That is just too much psychological stress on a woman.

2) It is a woman's body, so she can do what she pleases.

3) It is not murder, contrary to what many pro-lifers believe. Christians used to burn people at the stake for being "witches."

I hate people who preach pro-life for all the "God is divine" reasons and cannot look to the logical side if life.

This is a difficult question. I say that people have to take responsibility for their actions. But if it was a rape and the girl got pregnant, well in my opinion she needs to make a decision, and i think that abortion is OK but not the best solution. Plus Abortion bring many psychological problems. The percentage of women that commit suicide is higher in the ones that performed an abortion than those who decided to go trough the 9 months.

This is a question that has no right or wrong answer. It all boils down to morals and personal opinions. I am 100% against abortion if the circumstances are typical. You find yourself telling your boyfriend he got you pregnant. You took the responsibility to lay down and get pregnant then have the responsibility to have the child. If you are in no way capable of taking care of that baby there are hundreds of people out there that want and can take care of kids that are un able to have any.
