Okay... I have a Mongoose Blackcomb in which I bike to school everyday... On Friday, some jerks sprayed WD-40 on the disk brakes, so now the brakes won't work. Dose anyone know of anything that will take the stuff off quickly without damaging the brakes?

Go to the auto parts store and buy a can of Brakeclean. Use it only on the pads and rotor. This will cause you to have to disassemble your brakes, but this is the only way to get the stuff out of the pads. Only take the pads off, do not take the caliper apart! You will need to saturate the pads and let the cleaner run off. Then you will need to let them dry. If you are under 18 yrs. old, you will need your mom or dad to buy this stuff for you. It is an aerosol can. And use it in a well ventilated are. It can kill a lot of brain cells.

Yes, W-D 40 will get the grease from the bicycle. Besides, the brakes will not work! But, How long, will it take to come off? Depends on the temperatures of the climate. You can help by riding slow and pressing on the bicycle!

Buddy your talking about a bike!
DON'T USE THE STARTER FLUIDAS IT WILL MELT THE TIRES UNLESS YOU TAKE THEM OFF.

Best bet id the brake cleaner, spray. take the tries off the rims and take them outside soak all the parts well even the pads. this will remove any grease build up real quick and self evaporates so it takes the oils with it

A rag maybe? WD-40 is great for getting gooey stuff off but a rag and some elbow grease should work

Sandpaper or steel wool takes to the air rust. Then, coating metallic in oil keeps water and oxygen off the metallic so it prevents rust. Spraying oil on rusty metallic ought to enable you to open it.

by using some very slippery saliva. LOL

Seriously, first try warm soapy water, and then try some non-acetone nail polish remover...

However there is something called SIMPLE GREEN that is a degreaser and works very well!!

Get some engine starting fluid. This is ether, and it will dissolve the WD 40 and also won't remove the paint on your bike.

WARNING!!! ETHER IS HIGHLY FLAMMABLE!!!!!

DO THIS OUTDOORS WITH GOOD VENTILLATION, NO FLAMES OR SMOKING!!!
