Well, I always had an oily chin, but in the last little while I seem to have accidentally dried out my chin to the point where it's producing MORE oil. At this point I think I must have the oiliest chin in the universe (also *incredibly* acne-prone). Large pores, red, blotchy, *and* I'm an absolute oil slick when I wake up in the morning. My chin is so shiny, you could probably use it as a mirror. Ridiculous!

I do use a gentle cleanser ("Kiss my Face" pure olive oil soap), but I've used aspirin masks (http://www.acne.org/rate_item.php?item_id=75) nightly for the past 4 or 5 nights and lots of oil-blotting & use of powder during the day (though I feel the blotting & powder are necessary at work).

At this point, is there any way to make my skin less oily, without producing even more oil?

.

PLEASE NOTE: For those of you who have suggested toners or exfoliation -- that's exactly what an aspirin mask is. It is salicylic acid, which exfoliates. I think it is why this happened.

Also, I never use anything containing alcohol.

Use Lemon and Water as a toner and also drink lots of water it hydrates the skin naturally and stops oil build up. Avoid alcohol as this causes skin problems

First of all, I would suggest you stop using the olive oil cleanser and switch to an oil free cleanser and moisturizer. I agree with the other person who said stop using any product with alcohol in it. The more you try to dry your skin out the more oil your face is going to produce to compensate for the moisture loss, so make sure you are using a good moisturizer. If you still have trouble go see and aesthetician or dermatologist.

The aspirin mask is actually probably making it worse, unless you are only using it 1-2 times per week, anything that is exfoiliating your skin is actually doing more harm than good if you overuse it. Try getting a scrub cleanser, and a oil control lotion. Mary Kay has a a oil mattifier for people with bad ioly skin and I have customers that swear by that stuff.

Do you exfoliate? I suggest exfoliating twice a week for clearer skin.

Buy a facial scubbing tool, like a padded facial scrubber, they have them everywhere with the cleaners and some store brands and disposible cleaning pads. I suggest either the disposible are small but perfect for the chin area. It's going to take probally two weeks after exfoliating to noticed a change in your face, as it usually does with any new rejement added in.

Okay....make sure that nothing you are putting on your face has ALCOHOL in it. Alcohol can make your skin really oily. At least you already know how drying your skin out can make it overreact with oiliness.

This will probably freak you out, but try using moisturizer on your face. Clinique is a good one. Otherwise, depending on your age, it could be hormonal and you could talk to your doctor about it.

try using a soap like nuetragina(sp) or something that isn't made of oil ;)
also make sure that you are not constantly touching your chin.. the oils on your hands can make your face oily by touching.
try not to use any make up in that area its keeping your pores clogged and wont let them breath.
its a pain but nobody has a perfect skin.
good luck

actully the the oil on your chin is normal because there's something called the t-zone on your face which is your forehead, down your nose and yor chin all you have to do is wash you face daily and try not to touch your face if you can help it.
