take ibuprofen, pamprin, or midol

lay down and put a heating pad on your stomach

take a hot bath

sounds like you have a problem though if your period isn't normal or is irregular. you should see a doctor as soon as you can.

it is possible that you just haven't had it long enough to have a "regular" cycle yet, but i'd still get it checked out.

It's cramps dear. That's when your "woman parts" are working really hard to get all the mentstrual blood out of you, and it hurts. It will probably only last for today, maybe tommorow too.
Here are some tips to make the pain less or go away:
1. Take some Tylenol, or Ibuprofen. Midol is the best, though, its specifically meant for cramps. You can find it in any store!
2. Put a heating pad on your lower tummy. Heat can relax your hard-working muscles, reducing the pain.
3. Move around! I know that it might not seem like the best time to be active, but it can get your mind off of cramps, and exercise can help reduce cramps too. Trust me, on my second set of cramps (my second period) the last thing I wanted to do was go bowling with my family. But by the time we got back, I was cramp-free and energetic! It was great.
4. Avoid sugary or salty things. You usually crave those kind of foods when you get your period, and sugar/salt can acutally make cramps worse, and make you more lazy.
I know it hurts, but its only temporary. It's your first time, so I'd take it easy today, and if you get a chance, take a walk. Good luck and feel better! Your not alone, most girls have the same thing you do! :]

You cant make it stop baby. This is part of being a woman.

The pain you can stop with midol, aleve, or ibuprophin (mortin or advil). Warm things on your belly will help too, a heating pad, or those menstral sticky heat pads from the drug store.

Its normal for a girl just starting her period to skip for many consecutive months. It can take years, clear into your 20's for your body to get into a good cycle.

Its part of being a woman, you'll never cycle like the tide, despite what doctors try to induce or convince you of.

I just read the other posts. As someone who gets cramps bad enough to pass out, please listen to me. DO NOT take more than the doseage on the bottle. EVER. everything related to ibuprophin (all the medication i listed) eats away at your kidneys. Its a poison to your body. All pain killers are. The more you take and the longer you take them, the more damage they do. Tylenol, or acedemenphin, does not help well with period issues. But is also is bad for your kidneys, liver, and is very VERY easy to overdose on.

NEVER TAKE MORE THAN WHAT THE BOTTLE SAYS. it takes a doctor who considers your health, age, and weight to decide how much more than that you can handle, and even that is a guessing game.

Heat works better than anything. INvest in a heating pad, or some adhesive heat pads.

1) see yr doctor. teen girls can have a lot of problems with pain and irregularity and cramps before they get into a routine with it. there are things that can be done for it.

2) re yr. test question - tell yr guidance counsellor that you have trouble taking written tests and ask if you can do the test in a less stressful setting.

3) these 2 questions of yours suggest that you are a bit tense and high-strung. try to find some activity to help you relax; also vigorous exercise can be helpful in 'burning off steam'.

good luck

It's cramps, just take midol or something and while waiting for it to start working, lay on your back with your knees bent. This will help your blood circulate in that area better.

If you have cramps, take some tylenol or midol and put a heating pad where you feel the pain. Good luck!

It's totally normal... you're just having cramps. Take midol or pamprin, put a heating pad over where it hurts, and/or take a hot bath... it will stop hurting soon enough.
