will it grow in a place with alot of rain?

no., corn is usually a short term crop. it needs initially some water.. not to watery.. not to sand.. say in 90 days.. it would need water once every week. after having done it for 8 times in 90 days.. stop watering them.. because corn needs dry climate to flower and corn to grow.

repeated and rich water supply results in vegetative growth of any plant. this is a basic rule of plants.

we are on the coast in south Texas in zone 9 and grow acres of sweet corn to eat every spring....the corn is usually ready by the end of May. We probably get between 20 and 28" of rain each year.....not nearly as much as Houston does...enough to grow good crops of grain, cotton, corn, etc. good luck
