my hubby just went to iraq, is there a good cell out there that is not too pricey that i could send to my hubby, to have so he can call me more often.

The only type of cellphone you could get that would function the way you'd need it to is a Satellite Cellphone. They range in price plans usually starting no less than $150 per month. Standard cellphones do have coverage in Iraq, but the calls would cost you far more than the $150 per month in minutes and international calls.

Try shopping for a phone that will allow low rate international calling and no roaming. My preference is TMobile. You can save money by sending text messages, but don't go crazy with it. Another option would be to send him a prepaid cell phone, but you add the minutes when he runs low.

when my hubby was over there they didnt' let them have personal phone.
