Don't let any one tell you the amount of stars in the sky are infinite.
Stars are forming on a constant rate, as they are also collaspeing. The universe (the stars) are expanding into the infinite space of the infinite universe.
You must first realize that space is infinite, you do not just get to a point and at this point is the boundry. Lets say you were to touch this boundry, the question is what is after that boundry? That is a retarted question because there is no wall of space where it just suddenly stops. After a wall there is always something on the other side, there is no wall. Space is infinite, the universe is expanding for ever into it.
If space is infinite there is no point of singularity (big bang) where it all started from. This is because there was never a big bang, the universe stared some other way. It does have to start it could have always existed as long as the particles making up a galaxy exist, if they do not exist then there is no galaxy to make.
So the number of stars in not infinite but also not countable.
At this time only 25 quildreen stars are aproxmently noted to exist, but past the farthest star out there there is another one, we just can't see it.

If I had to guess: about 900 sextillion, give or take a few hundred quintillion.

There's about 200-300 billion stars in the Milky Way, and about 100 billion galaxies that we can see (keeping in mind that there are some galaxies we can't see as their light hasn't had time to reach us).

A precise count would be impossible, especially considering things like L- and T-type dwarfs which look like fiery Jupiters and seem like a transition between planet and star.

The o possible way to know becuase stars are dying all the time and we have no idea how big the universe actual is so we can't figure out how many stars there are.
