They mainly eat garden debris, they stay in shade and moist area's so the underside of plants are where they feed, and hide. The especially like marigolds and hosta's . Slugs can do enough damage to kill plants, if the weather has been rainy they are worse. You can slow them down with Epsom salts around your plants and that doesn't harm the environment.

They eat plants, lots of them. They love, love, love Hostas, also Delphiniums, and just about anything green. As cute as the little ones are, I just can't let them take over my garden - they go! One of the few life forms I kill, but don't just squash them, because then next year hundreds of eggs will open up to tons of snails and slugs. Put them in a container and then in the trash.
