how do you know what your baby flower horn would look like when it grows bigger?

i dnt want to waste my money on rejects..i friend told me that flower horns in the same "litter"(im not sure how they call it) grows diffrently from one another..and some of them will look plain like a tilapia

A fish 'Litter' is called a 'Brood'.

You can't really tell until it is larger, so the best way is to grow out more then one and just keep the one you like best.
