No. Opium is natural, cannabis is natural, these can't be good to legalise. I agree about the government though. They are a bunch of money grabbing hypocrites who blab on about drug and alcohol problems but are pocketing all the tax from cigarettes, booze etc.

All substances, whether natural or not, that cause damage to health and premature death should be illegal, and this includes tobacco and alcohol. The problem is that the government cannot trust the public to look after their own health, and so this is where the government should step in. Terrorism leads to the death of innocent people so the public is against terrorism, and yet some people call for drugs to be made legal - drugs which have the same effect as terrorism, damage to health and a premature death.

most natural drugs that do work well (like atropine, digoxin, etc.) have been made into commercial products

The problem with naturally occurring drugs being legalized is that people abuse them!!! What's the point of making something legal if you have to make a law later that has to violate and/or limit use?

Yes i think that might be a good idea because it is really up to the individual to make up their own mind about using substances, the only responsibilty the gov. has in that respect is to give the public ALL the information about the substance and not just feed them negative propoganda.

what do you mean by naturally occuring drugs. All the natural occuring drugs I can think of are cannabis, magic mushrooms, cocaine and heroin. I think it would cause a lot of problems if drugs such as cocaine and heroin were made legal and we would have a lot more addicts on our hands.

What do you call naturally occuring?

100% natural would mean all modern skunk would be banned, as it's not from natural strains.

Are Coke & Heroin natural or not, they are natural substances, but need processing to be used.
