Cartridge primers are used in reloading. What is the difference between "small caliber" and "large caliber"?

Reloading manuals distinguish between "large caliber" pistol and "small caliber" pistol primers. What is the size caliber breaking point between "large" and "small"?

I believe 9mm uses small, 10 mm and larger uses large, but I'm not a reloader.

When in doubt, check with the case manfacturer, it could be dargerous to get it wrong.
