I'm planning on giving people in my orchestra class gifts for Christmas, and I got an idea for this one guy that I like, and I'm pretty sure he likes me but he's super shy so it's a little hard to tell. So I was thinking of making a calendar of his favorite band, with each month being one of their songs and writing the lyrics on it, and maybe drawing something too. Is that tacky or would he like it? He's skater and listens to hardcore, and his favorite band is one of my favorites, too. Also, any other ideas?

Well it is a good thing that you like the same band, or else it would be FREAKING OBVIOUS that you like him. But make sure that you put some good songs, like their hit singles or something. Make sure you have the right lyrics, a picture of the album, and other things that would make it special. You might have a picture of the guitarist if there is an awesome solo or the singer if you like the lyrics. But make sure you put good time into it and make it so that he would like it and like you and stuff. But I personally think that it is a great idea if you make it a quality thing.
You should also buy him a couple of CD's or and iTunes card so he can purchase some more of that band's music.

I am a big fan of mixed tapes. But being as everythings digital, make him the ultimate play list for his mp3. If he doesnt have one drp 20-30 bucks on a small mp3 that plays 40 or so songs and make the ultimate mix that drops hints through music. Lifes too short, if you like him, go for it.

The calendar idea is perfect because it opens the social door but if he is just interested platonicly, you are still OK. Don't spend $$ on merchandise or anything too mushy until you know more.
