How can I make my glue a different color with a marker? Plain white Elmer's glue is pretty boring!

If you can visit a good craft shop you might be able to find glues that come in different colours.

Certainly some glues can be altered by adding food colouring but other colours can also be used e.g. paint can be used. When doing so, it is always best to test first with a small sample of glue and paint to find out the best ratios to use and to find out how the colour fixes when the glue drys. Oil-based paints won't mix with water-based glues of course (the type made specially for use by young children), nor will water-based paints mix with glues with a complex chemical composition (glues of industrial strength). It's also important to beware when mixing chemicals so experimentation with paints and paint-like substances e.g. nail varnish and glue might be best avoided!

You could try crushing pastels and mixing those into the glue.

I don't think there is a way to color gule with a marker but you could try food coloring. That should work for you. Try mixing to make "different and unusual colors"...that would be cool. let us know how it turns out. good luck.

food colouring is the key!! (if its runny glue that is) or if it goes transparent and is not runny use your marker underneath the put glue over it.
