your baby will tell you when he needs to stop, please just watch the signs of his expressions it's so easy, if he eats too much he'll probably spit it back up

It is very possible to overfeed your baby - which is why you should get specific guidance from your pediatrician if you are not breastfeeding on how much formula he needs a day based on his size. On the formula containers here in France they also give guidance on the box for how much and how many feedings to give a day based on age. Adding cereal can give your child too many calories leading to being too heavy for his size. My little girl can not say no to food - she will eat until she throws up or has milk coming out her nose so you cant always let your child decide when enough is enough. She could drink twice the suggested amt of milk if you let her, but it's my job as her mother to look out for her best interest and not indulge her inner glutton!

Yes, you can over feed your child. Some children will stop when they are not hungry anymore, and some will keep on eating. They normally get really gassy or throw up if they are over full. I also noticed that when my daughter was almost full she would just play with the food in her mouth, she would not eat it like she would when we started lunch time. My daughter got cereal at 4 month's and than we went to fruits and so on. Good Luck!!

usually he will let you know when he is full by not taking anymore. By you keep offering him more and his response of pushing it away or not opening his mouth helps him learn when to stop eating. But try not to give him anymore than the serving on the box. Both my sons were on cereals and vegi's and fruits (baby food) when they were 4 months and i could tell when they were full by the look on their face and the fact that eventually they would become less interested in the food and just want to play with the spoon.

Yes. I started giving my daughter rice cereal, very watery, at 5 months because she wasn't sleeping well. I breastfed exclusively. I usually only fed her the rice cereal (about one or two tablespoons) once a day for about two weeks and then as she got closer to six months of age then I fed her more cereal and started fruits. Good luck!

Yes, but you will know you've overfed him. He will have chronic gas or throw up.
