As a product of the Arkansas public school system, I feel compelled to let you know that, uhh.... AR is the abbreviation for Arkansas. AK is the abbreviation for Alaska.

Bill Clinton held several political offices in Arkansas. While he could hardly be called a liberal in the true sense of the word, he was and is a Democrat. Clinton's team developed a program to test the basic knowledge and skills of all Arkansas teachers. Those teachers who failed the statewide test would be given two years to make up their deficiencies and then re-tested. If they still could not demonstrate basic skills, they would be discharged. The plan was widely popular by parents and strongly opposed by the teachers unions (who picketed and withdrew political support from Bill Clinton).

When the test results came in, 50% of the teachers had failed. Rather than presenting the poor results, they called in Dick Morris to determine an "acceptable" percentage- and by polling arrived at a figure of 10% which was then released to the public. In the end, only a handful of teachers ever lost their job.

We don't. We recognize those two wonderfully conservative-leaning states as two of the very worst in education.

Hey Shiraz, you misread me (not a surprise). And LA and AR have voted Republican in the last few elections.

Your KKK comment might have been valid 40 years ago, and you are confusing the terms Democrat and Liberal. The dixiecrats who supported or were involved with the KKK were extremely conservative in their views.

Man you need to go back to school!

quite training examine shows, and has continuously shown for over 30 years, that the single maximum necessary variable in a newborn's training is the youngster's mom. instructors are in basic terms the 2nd or 0.33 maximum necessary variable and don't even account for a million/2 the fee of the mother. actually. each and every little thing linked with the faculty is basically as important because of the fact the mother by herself. Are some instructors poor? specific. What do you assume in a central authority run device? government is virtually constantly a low high quality provider no matter what the product is, and is quite so while it effectively has no opposition. government rubbish creditors, working example, are lots extra useful while they might lose the district's contract to non-public corporation. same for government bus drivers, and government water meter readers. Why everybody could think of that government docs and hospitals could be any diverse in the event that they had no opposition is a consistent secret to me. :-)

i graduated from the little rock public schools in 1961. the education i received was excellent. students respected teachers, there was discipline both at home and in the schools, and students were supposed to study and learn.

since then, the opposite has become the norm. today, if i had children of school age, i would not even allow them on the school grounds during the summer to play.

Most of public education is controlled by liberals. That is why some high school graduates can't locate the United States of America on a globe.

I have no idea what makes you think that a Liberal -- even a Liberal who is, like many of most of them, an athestic commie -- would suppose that Lousiana and Arkansas have "great education systems".

But this I know and know full well: a Liberal -- even an atheistic commie one -- would know how to spell LOUISIANA.

Vive la Louisiane française!

... uh.... who said? maybe a "liberal" from there? but that's like 2 people...

I would say that many more conservatives would feel that way, since there are many more conservatives there... they voted for Bush..

EDIT: oh, so because one person said that... all liberals do that? that's conservative logic at work again.... and WHY DID THEY VOTE FOR BUSH? IS HE A LIBERAL?
