all my music is seperated only by artist- its getting confusing sorting through it all. i tried to organize by type (such as "classic rock", "folk", "hip hop", etc.) but its so hard because so many artists cross genres and I don't know where to put them. how do ya'll organize your music files?

I put my favorite music first and least favorite last.

If you use Windows Media Player then go to your MY MUSIC folder/ If you use iTunes, then go to your iTunes folder.
Once there, just RIGHT-CLICK on an empty space and Click NEW FOLDER... Name that folder (i.e. Aerosmith).... Then drag all the (aerosmith) songs and drop them in that folder. Keep doing this until you have all the same artists in the same folders. And whala! You're organized!

You should organize it in playlists if you have iTunes. It shouldn't be that hard if its by artist, unless it doesn't go into what album that song is on.
