A day ago I got what I guess what everyone else has been getting and I'm on the pill, but I didn't take it that night because I was throwing up and didn't think it was a good idea to take it because I'd just throw it up and it wouldn't do me any good. So I took it at the same time the next day with the other pill. Was that a bad idea? I couldn't take it first thing the next morning because I was still throwing up.

Yes, it was a good idea that you took the missed pill, but as always it may increase your chance of getting pregnant. Use condoms or another form of b/c for about 7-10 days. You didn't mention if you were taking antibiotics tho. If you are, then use backup method until you are done with that pack of birth control! Feel better, no one likes the flu.

If you throw up or have diarrhea within 4? hours of taking a pill , or have it more than 12 hours late, it counts as a missed pill and you should take extra precautions for the next seven days of active pills.

You should consult the documentation that comes every month with your prescription to know what to do when you miss pills. Usually when you've missed only one day, it is recommended that you use a secondary (or back-up) form of birth control for the next seven days.

Some antibiotics make the birthcontrol pill ineffective
while you are taking the antibiotics. Be careful.
