Well since you asked about punk rock as opposed to just punk I would have to point out NoFx. I like them a lot. Anthrax is pretty good too.
On a side note... slap the girl that said Panic at the Disco and green day is fake punk rock.

1) The Clash, who blew the roof off everywhere they played, and expanded way beyond their three chord punk rock roots without ever selling out. If you saw them live in 1978 or earlier you would never question their position at the top.
