Depends on what you define as "typical." At my school, typical could range from ipod addicted weirdos to preppy annoying promiscuous cheerleaders. You can't place teenagers into a category. It also depends on the area you are talking apart. A teenager living in a ghetto area versus a teenager living in mansions are going to have different elements.

Ignorance of the sacrifices that have been made to create him.
Ingratitude for the people who love him.
Boredom because he has been given everything he ever wanted without having to lift a finger.
Aggression when confronted by conflict.
Rash decisions to commit unspeakable blunders (DUI, school shooting, unprotected sex, drinking, drugs, smoking, etc) for fear of losing some acquaintance who doesn't really care what they do or think in any case.
Blindly ignoring the clear and immediate consequences for their actions.
These are all indicators of immaturity, and like youth itself, they will outgrow it if they live long enough.
It is wrong and a foolish waste of a life and the taxpayer's money for courts to impose harsh punishments on such children for acting like children. Why is the irrational act of a moment in a child in which he gains nothing punished more harshly than the coolly considered and deliberate act of adults who profit from their crimes? (Politicians, police officers, lawyers, accountants, CEO's)

Healthy search for identity replaced by consumerism and brand logos. I buy, therefore I am.
It's hard to do otherwise. The odds are stacked against those who actually want to do something meaningful or unique. Strength and godspeed to those who do.
