is supposed to happen? This guy said that he would go out to eat with me and my family for my birthday, and then he called my MOM TWO DAYS before we were supposed to go out and said that he was not going to be able to make it. Now, tonight we are taking him out for his birthday. I really do not want to go. Am I not entitled to NOT want to go? Especially after what he did to me on my birthday?

this is the first time it has happened, BUT he did not have a good excuse. It was just, "something came up".

Lack of commitment. Immaturity. How many times did he cancel out on you? Especially with your family!!! If he keeps doing this then you know he definitely have to learn to keep his words. You got to ask yourself, where do you stand in his life? Are you part of his inner circle or just secondary? This gets old after a while. Do not waste your time. But if he only did it once with a good excuse, then that's different. But remember, that was your birthday, he shouldn't have any excuse not to make it!!!

well you need to explain more of the relationship between you and the guy for anyone to really give you a decent answer. atleast he called. ya know maybe something came up. if you want to be a brat then say you arent going. your playing a childish game about a guy.

It really depends on why he couldn't make it for your birthday dinner. He should have called you and told you his reason not your mom. I wouldn't want to go out for his birthday either. I think I would have a violent headache or start my period just to not go.

He didn't want to go. Try and remember that the next time he calls at 2 am to see if you need some company.

unless it was a family thing, he probably had a better offer. something more fun came up and he wanted to do that instead. dont waste your time.
