Been to Turkey several times. Amazing history both modern (last 80 years since they re invented themselves) and ancient, been o Ephesus etc incredible.
The people are wonderful and great ambassadors for their country. My personal experience was they were very tolerant as a Muslim nation and certainly appear to be a secular society or at least making every effort to be.
No one is perfect of course but my personal experiences are positive ones.

1st things first, this is Thanksgiving on Monday, so with Cranberry sauce, not the Jellied, but the Whole berry style.

Doomer; I'm not sure but isn't it Turkey wants to join the EU. It doesn't seem feasable considering half of Turkey is in Asia. Also Turkey being a Muslim nation and fairly big on Capital Punishment,(not as big as Texas), but as I understand it, no country in th EU has the Death Penalty, so that would put an end to stonings etc.

It's a 99% muslim country but the EU wants them to join them!! What the hell is that about?! I don't like that idea at all. I mean turkey borders Iraq & Iran... EU will probably want them in too!

It's a fine country, however, the government still refuses to admit that the Armenian Genocide in World War I happened. To have an entire country live in such a state of denile is just sad.
