i was told by an audi tec that it,s problably the wiring but it seems odd that all the other lights work

the techie could be right. Mostly all your wiring is on a seperate 'track' if your other brake light works, then its probably the direct wire to the bulb on the driver side and not further inside the system.

The problem may be in the bulb light assembly. Remove the tail light and then open it up take out all your bulbs and check the contacts on the bulb assembly if you see any black spots where the brake bulb goes that is your problem. If you have access to a volt meter douoble check the wire that supplys power to the brake bulb

Bulbs are cheap so replace it anyway, just to be sure. Make sure the contacts in the bulb socket are clean. If it still doesn't work, its most likely the ground wire.

did you check the fuse ? it may be it
