as i have not experienced cable i cannot vouch for it but i had sky + installed in april after 2 years without any TV and its the worst thing i have ever done, purely because i am paying £10 extra for the privalige of recording pause and play back and i have the most basic package it costs me £25 per month. the programming i think must be on some 24 hour rotation as you see the same programs every day you think the BBC has the monopoly on repeats, no way mate sky takes the biscuit i cant beleive i am paying £25 a month to see the same thing over and over and over and over again, and i cant get out i am locked into a contract for 12 months. if i where you i would buy a digi tv settop box and spend the money you saved on an odeon season ticket cos its better value. do not enter into contracts for you TV its not worth it the value to cost ratio is way of the mark. anyone who thinks paying a monthly fee for their TV is good value is a mug in fact any one who wants a tv is a mug get life people are more interesting. try living a year without tv its a breath of fresh air.

Had cable, got rid of it and now have sky....with sky plus.
Only plus for cable you do not have to pay a yearly maintenence for the box....and certainly do not have to pay £300 for a high definition box...
