i need to know for my kids home work!

Generally speaking... metals have higher melting points than non-metals....

But metals are also good conductors of heat and hold heat much longer than non-metals.

Glass from what I've seen cools pretty quickly... metal does not.

The answer is not just dependent on mass, but that is what the text book will say. Copper has a higher mass (density) so it takes longer to cool off. This is 99% certain to be the right answer. Now to confuse you. Glass insulates better than copper, copper conducts heat out of the center of the mass faster so even though a pile of glass might be cooler on the surface than the copper it might be much hotter inside the center.

Copper.
It has a better conductivity of heat. It dissipates heat faster to the surroundings so cools the liquid faster.
