I've loved Jane Eyre ever since I read it when I was a little'un - it's 'my book' (as many others feel). Who else lurves Rochester? I think Toby Stephens has done a great job - my other fave was Ciaran Hinds in the 1997 ITV version with Samantha Morton as Jane.
Big up Jane Eyre!

I'm watching it and may I say it is absolutely marvelous and what a cracking pace!
Although I have read the book, seen the film, watched just about every BBC adaptation there is, I still find myself suspending my disbelief and feel the hairs on the back of my neck rise when we get a near glimpse of the mad woman!
Can't wait for the next episode. I am usually out on a Sunday night and I can't work the video to save my life so I will have to watch the 9.00 p.m. episode next Sunday when it is repeated round tea time.
Great casting for the sultry Jane and the masterful Rochester!

Timothy Dalton was the only decent Rochester I have ever seen. Although, I can imagine Ciaran Hinds being good - tho I haven't seen that one.

What the hell? What planet are you guys from? No one of you ever seen Orsen Welles and Joan Fontaine? Elizabeth Taylor wasn't even billed in this version. She played Helen. Do some research.

Yes, I'm watching it and enjoying it. I've read the book twice, but haven't seen any other versions.
