How many days in advanceshould your order a boutonniere? Can you order it within a day or two of a dance?

Within a day or two is fine. They only take a few minutes to put together, but you want to make sure the florist has the flower you want.

Most Florist shops should be able to do it within two days but you might want to call to ask, if it is a big event like homecoming, do it at least three days in advance.

I actually did this yesterday. The dance was yesterday. I called the florist and they said they could make one up. This was the day of the dance and an hour before they closed.
