It may or may not be a scam...but even the legitimate sites won't pay you as much as even working a day a week at a regular minimum wage part time job. But if you just need a little extra spending money, though, survey sites can do that.

I've listed some of the sites I have taken surveys through and actually been paid (or recieved other rewards like gift cards or CDS) on the following, if you are interested:

http://www.windhavenweb.com/surveys

I list how they pay you, what I like and dislike about them, whether they have an affiliate or referral program, etc.

There are others out there. Be careful though, there are also scams. Don't sign up for any survey site which asks you to pay to access the surveys. Also watch for language like "get paid for taking surveys AND SIGNING UP FOR OFFERS" if you don't want to have to sign up for stuff with other companies to get paid.

Always carefully read their terms of service and privacy policy. If in their privacy policy they say they only use aggregated info, this is GOOD SIGN they are legit. Aggregated info information that is grouped together so it can't be connected with anyones personal identification like name, e-mail, phone or address. That's what survey sites SHOULD collect. Avoid for sites that say they give, rent, or sell any personal information (info that is not agregated) to third parties (unless you really don't mind getting junk mail, telemarketing calls, and spam).

Also just recently came across a good survey ratings site that I've found very helpful:

Many of the survey sites on the internet are scams although a few firms such as globaltestmarket.com are legit. The problem is you will never make enough money to consider this as a good source of revenue. I make a couple of hundred bucks a year doing surveys but cetainly would not call that a job.

I've tried loads of different things for reseach. Surveys are useless - unless you want to spent 12 hours a day for the chance to win a prize draw. If you find a good one let me know. Mypoints is OK. You get an email and click - look at the advert and get 5 points - buy something through mypoints and get more points. i have just over 6000 and you get £10 for every 1500 - so I can cash in for £40. You also get points for introducing people. look at my website adsense usually have ads on there for money making things. Find a good one and be sure to let me know. if the ad for Soulcast is on - click that - I blog on soulcast. My email is on my website and if you email me - I'll give you a few tips on blogging and making money from adsense. You can make $100 a month - about £60 - I know someone who gets £60 a month - but from a website. If you have free webspace from your ISP consider using that. I use mine for my website - it's not as hard as it looks - especially with a little help! My email is at the bottom of each page on my web site. Tell me if any of those money making adverts are any good - I can't click them - they are pay per click. I can't click my own! But I can click yours!

Odds are it is a scam. If you want a real job, try local companies in your area. 98% of online job offers are scams and you will not get paid.

you will grow tired of it in a minute the you will lose interest than you will stop. especially when you have to cold call people.

I did it for about a day and that was enough for me to just say forget it.
