I tried to Proactive and it made me breakout more. They do state in the fine print that it might be worse before it can get better because you may have acne that is was in the process of appearing. I switched to Murad's Acne Complex Kit system and in about a week it was so much better. In a month, I was acne free with Murad.

Ya i bought proactive before too, and thought the same thing, my zits will disappear in just a day or two. Personally i thought it was a waste of money. I don't have real "bad" acne, but i have more then what I'd like to have. I'm 25 and i see other people my age that have nice clear skin, and i always think"why cant i?" But the proactive didn't work for me like all the people in the ads claim it works for them, don't have an answer to you're question, but was just glad to see I'm not the only one who was wondering the same kinda thing about proactive.

I'm on Differin, which is a very similar medication to Proactiv Solution. During the first few weeks the meds irritate your skin and make you break out because of an unfamiliar chemical reaction taking place. After that though, it should begin to clear up and look just fine. Also- even when the acne goes away, you have to stick to using the medication. Without applying it every day like you did when you started it will all come back and (just like in the beginning) will put you through the awful breakout thing before your skin warms up to it.
Good Luck! I hope you clear up like I did ;)

My acne was never that bad but i wanted to use Proactive anyways so i bought it. the first time i used it my face swelled up pretty badly. i stopped using it for a week and then tried it again and my face didn't swell up. after two months of using it all my zits and pimples were gone and my face felt so fresh and clean. Proactive takes a while to work but it works really well! I've never been happier.

That can happen with any acne-be-gone product you buy. People have different skin with different acne problems. Your skin may not respond as well to Proactive as, say, the lying woman on the brochure.
If after a couple of months it hasn't done anything to better your skin, try switching to a different product (possibly one that isn't so riddled with chemicals).

Everyone is different. Not everyone's zits will completely go away, but you should see an improvement. If you don't see an improvement within 2 weeks, you might want to see a dermatologist. He or she can prescribe oral antibiotics.

You should probably try another brand because although Proactiv is really good, it only works for certain skin types, usually people with slight to moderate acne. I would shop around for other brands.

give it a little more time, ive never used it, but people are different. so if it doesnt work after a while of using it-try something else!!
