He is listed on some of the credits, but it's a few years later and at the time the new album. Just how much did he contribute to make it onto that one?

RIDE THE LIGHTNING IS IN MY TOP 5 FAVORITE ALBUMSI'LL EVEN SAY IT IS ONE OF THE 5 BEST ALBUMS EVER RECORDED!dave mustaine used to jam with those guys,i think he actually was clifford lee burton's friend from what i understand and was supposed to be a part of mettalica, but had different ideas which direction the band should have gone in,then i heard he did'nt get along with james hetfield.whatever the truth is....we all know it was cliff burton who made that album what it is,it is one of those rare cd's that you can play over&over and never get tired of.i don't know i can't get into megadeth like that, never could .i'm just speaking for myself and not to offend anyone who loves megadeth, but everything sounds alike and comic book-like.and they have'nt really grown musically whereas metallica put out several very good albums since that masterpiece and sound distinctively different on each one.mustaine sounds exactly the same on everything. maybe burton felt sorry for him and gave him some credit for being a hanger-on.not to be mean or anything, but come on,who is the better band? he probably played 2chords in the back room somewhere'cause RIDE THE LIGHTNING is all cliff burton with the rest of metallica "backing" him up as far as i'm concerned.

Dave Mustaine is an amazing guitar player and actually stayed close to everyone but Lars. He wrote that material early and let the band use it later on.
He is a great musician and you can see via Megadeth and early Metallica, and probably was one of the best parts of the early band.

He does not play on any of their albums. He did, however, write a lot of the music Metallica used for their EP. According to Mustaine, he was angry and had told Metallica not to use his music, though they deny he ever said that. Either way, there was no copyright. But to answer your question, he does not play on any of their albums, but they did use his songs.
