I am a physician and I have no idea what a forensic nurse is. I know it would have to do with law, but all the people I have dealt with in forensics have been dead.

Forensic nursing is a pretty new field, so a lot of colleges are not going to offer it. You should check on-line to find one that does. Also because it is a new field, jobs might not be plentiful at first except perhaps in larger citites. But if it's what interests you, then you should go for it!

I've never heard of forensic nursing, and I go to a university which offers both nursing and forensic science. Traditional route to get into forensic science is to get a bachelors in chemistry or biochemistry, and than get a masters in forensic science.

If that's what you would like to do, start looking where you live if there are any forensic nurses. Ask at the largest hospital near your home and the police department. They would be able to give you the information you need. Good Luck!!!
