Noah's Ark is a classic theme that can go both ways. I personally would do bugs and sheets in green, etc. Then, when I had a boy or girl I would add more bugs that would suit each one, such as for a boy add more caterpillars and for a girl add more ladybugs and butterflies. You can also do a circus theme or just a black and white them and then add either blue or pink accents when the baby is born. Also, if you put the baby in a bassinet next to your bed for the first few months you'll have more time to decorate the nursery before the baby even moves in there. Good luck!

I always wanted to do this theme..
baby duckies.. it could go for both boy or girl!
Yellow lamp shades, duckie border, duckie crib setting, white or yellow walls... but i think white would be better.
You can always add boy or girl touches once abby has arrived...
By added pink bows on the duckies if its a girl and blue ones for a boy...
i had it all planned out after bay #1 and 3 babies later i still ahvent done it(never had the money too) so might as well share my idea with some one else!

I love the idea of using frogs for a little boy. I will definitly use that for my next son. I like ladybugs/butterflies for a girl. Or just something dainty like eyelet lace curtains and crib accessories.
If you want something that is usable for boy and girl...then someting like sun, moon and stars is an easy idea.
Check places like Babies R Us and see if you find something you like. Then go to other (less expensive) stores and see if you can put something together close to it.

Why not do it in a sunny yellow or a pale green? That way it will be suitable for a boy or a girl and it will be more imaginative than the same old boring colors.

it's a girl paint the room pink/green or pink/yellow or pink/purple. Buy an educational or pretty border. For my son I painted his room like the ocean, fish everywhere, sea kelp, and our playroom is train tracks and the station.

Forget the nusery, a baby belongs in your bedroom so it can feel and hear all the time that you are near.
