rich: (adj) being abundant, well-supplied. it's usually connected with material wealth: money or possessions. unfortunately, i have not nearly enough of which to qualify as 'rich', but there are other ways to think about being rich.

a person can be rich in feelings, or in emotions. they can have a richness to their lives that provide them great personal meaning or satisfaction without having a large bank account. many people count on the richness of their friendships, their loves, and their families to get them through their lives. this kind of wealth is not apparent to the casual observer.

ME? personally i feel rich when i am happy: in a job well done, a person made happy by my acts or words, and the tenderness of a deeply shared emotional connection with someone i care for. i get greater satisfaction in providing others happiness than i do myself, and if i can hear one person tell me, "thank you" for something i've done or said, i consider that great wealth. in fact, if i had a dime for each time .... :)

When your life is full of richness, I believe you have reached heaven on Earth. Feeling "rich" has nothing to do with money at all. However, if you have a great deal of wealth, you may be able to buy things that contribute to the richness of your life, but I think the true feeling of rich is purley emotional. Love for example, can make the poorest man feel rich. When your life is enriched with beauty, love, grace, peace, adventure, sunshine, and whatever else makes you happy, that is when you are truly rich.

What would make me feel rich is more then just a roof over my head and a good apartment. If I will have a beautiful but faithful wife, children, a large apartment, a good job and a large bank account and good friends and a good relationship with my family, then I truly would feel like the richest man on the earth.

Having a family I love and who loves me in return. My husband adores me and I adore him. He's a magnificent dad. We have a happy well adjusted child as a result. This makes me feel rich because I don't want for much. Personally, as long as I have love (and make enough to pay the bills and buy most of what I want) I feel rich.

Stumbling across a wild poem that blows my mind and emotions to pieces. Falling in love with a pagan Goddess. Being able to defend myself. Having the strength of mind to refuse liabilites that others try to foist upon each other. Why? We are defined by our trials and our conquests, our defence of the good, the infallible love for a divine perfect thing, and the knowledge that I have been responsible and dealt correctly with things.

My family. They are their for me when I need them and I for them. My wife, my child, and yes, even my dog. Money isn't worth the paper its printed on without my family.

Wanting what I have and nothing more. A man's wealth is measured not by how much he has but by how little he needs.
