I made a mistake and put moms glucose at 10 instead of 110. The levels showing on her blood work show this a the high end before going over the limit. I do know the Dr. mentioned his concer n a couple of months ago.

Levels up to 100 are considered normal. Levels between 100 and 126 are referred to as impaired fasting glucose or pre-diabetes. Diabetes is typically diagnosed when fasting blood glucose levels are 126 or higher.

are you talking about just one reading it was 110?? I did it in class last week and mine went from 83 to 93, and a lot of my classmates were around 125 or 130. If you are just talking about one glucose reading, i think it has to be much higher...like mid 200s to 300 or so. But i am not a doctor!!!!! so take it for what it's worth.

Did you check it befroe you ate or after you ate? This makes a difference. the normal range is 70-110. If you consuimed alot of sugery beverages, foods... and then checked it it could be different.
If you have family history of diabetes in your family (and since your mom has a glucometer I'm guessing you do) and you are concerned, you need to talk to your doctor

I'd like to add to NurseAnnie's correct answer. It can take 10 years for Diabetes to become "official". If your doctor says you're pre-diabetic... be concerned and modify your diet. Even though this is becoming a "common" disease.... You want to do everything within your power to slow it down.
