I live in s small town and there isn't a local toy drive withing 50 miles of us. I would like some suggestion on how to start a toy drive in town. I am not a member of any org. I just want to help needy families.

I would start making flyers and passing them out in churches/library/anywhere you can post things for free. Of course make sure to ask their permission and be ready to answer all the necessary questions. You could also ask the local businesses.

I've done this for the past 12 years, I am poor yet find that it is easier than most folks think. Spread the word around and collect old toys from neighbors and friends (good condition toys, or those requiring new batteries or a slight cleaning)..Look for Christmas items at Goodwill, Dollar stores, or things on sale. I purchase gloves, hats, toys, coloring books/crayons, some things every kid could use. Then you will begin "hearing" about those in need you can help. Much Luck and God bless

lots of times a church will help, or a walmart.they some times match donations talk to the manager there,,,,,,,,,or the chamber of commerceif not have a chartiy drive at the local high school , and get everyone out, have a all day singing and the admetion be a toy

Start by asking all the Ministers in your area to help out by announcing it at church. Signs in the local diners. Get the Boy and Girl Scouts to help out. You will also be surprised how kids at school can really make it successful also.

get with a local church and explain your idea then put an ad in the local paper that's what my youth group did

ask around your neighborhood and go o small retail shops and advertise put up bulletins and set up boxes once word gets around i'm sure people will want to help
